What are Virtual Paralegals?

Each of our plans include a dedicated virtual paralegal. You’ll work with your virual paralegal on a one-to-one basis, continually submitting tasks directly to this person.  As we develop a rapport, we will better understand your style and your preferences—all while learning to anticipate your needs without you having to repeat yourself.

As a collaborative consumption business, our virtual paralegals are a shared resource amongst our clients. They schedule their days to best serve you and your incoming tasks with priority and without delay. As such, we do not offer immediate turnaround.  Though we would expect most tasks, depending on the scope, to be completed in 24-48 hours. We encourage you to clearly communicate priority levels and deadlines on your projects so we may consistently exceed your expectations.

Where will my virtual paralegal be located?

All of our virtual paralegals are located in the United States and you’ll work with a virtual paralegal in the timezone of your preference: East Coast or West Coast.

What is the Branded email feature?

Branded email is a little addition that makes a huge difference. This feature allows your dedicated virtual paralegal to send and receive emails from your domain rather than from their personal email account.  This adds a level of professionalism and gives the appearance that your virtual paralegal is in-house. Your tech team or webmaster should be able to assist you in generating a new email for your virtual paralegal. Depending on your domain provider, a small fee may be required to create a new email address. Parasimple is not responsible for fees incurred with branded email setup.

Will my virtual paralegal be working on the weekend?
Our virtual paralegals work standard business hours, Monday through Friday and are not required or expected to work on weekends or after 6 p.m.  Of course, you can submit your tasks 24 hours, 7 days a week. If submitted before/after business hours, your virtual paralegal will receive the task(s) the following business day to begin working on them. We do want to note that if you send a task minutes before the workday ends, it is unlikely to be completed that same day.
Will my virtual paralegal be working on holidays?
Parasimple observes major U.S. holidays. Your virtual paralegal will be offline and spending quality time with family and friends on these occasions during the year:
  • New Year’s Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving
  • Day After Thanksgiving
  • Christmas Eve
  • Christmas Day

Your virtual paralegal may work a half day on the Wednesday preceding Thanksgiving and on New Year’s Eve. When a holiday falls on a weekend, Parasimple will follow the U.S federal day of observance.

Can my virtual paralegal handle scheduling?
We are paralegals, not legal secretaries.  Due to the complexity of the multiple platforms used by attorneys, we cannot be the gatekeeper for your calendar.  However, we will work with you or your staff to clear dates for appointments, hearings, mediations, etc.

Can my virtual paralegal make purchases on my behalf?
Yes! In an effort to expedite matters, Parasimple may choose to advance costs on a case-by-case basis.  Let’s talk about your needs and how we can help!

How about in-bound phone calls?
Yes and no. Every virtual assistant will be accessible to you by phone. Depending on our agreement, we may consider accepting calls directly from clients, contacts, vendors or service providers on your behalf.

 

Can my virtual paralegal utilize my case/document software or other management tools?
All of our virtual paralegals are experienced and have been exposed to various types of document managment software.  While we do not offer specific training for specialized software, our virtual paralegals are more than happy to assist if you are able to provide instruction, as well as log-in creditials.  Note, Parasimple will not be responsible for the costs of additional seat licenses required by your vendor.

Can Parasimple help with my accounting needs?
Since our co-founder has spent the majority of her career in the accounting profession, we can provide various levels of support with respect to  Quickbooks or other accounting tools. Let’s talk!
